Edge Explore 1000 offers incident detection capabilities via an integrated accelerometer. In the event of an accident, this feature can manually or automatically send your location to your emergency contacts.

Strava Live Segments

Turn every ride into a race by competing against other cyclists on Strava Live Segments. See real-time results, including alerts for segment start/finish and leaderboard rankings.

If you ride with friends, now you can use GroupTrack to keep an eye on everyone in your pack, even if someone pulls ahead or falls behind. Just glance at your Edge to see the connected riders in your group as dots on the map. If someone stops, their dot becomes a hexagonal stop sign, telling you how long they’ve been stationary. Also, see other riders in your group in list view, where you’ll be able to see their current speeds and how far they are from you.

Advanced Performance Metrics

Integrates with Shimano Di2 electronic shifting systems1 to display your current gear on the screen. Compatible with ANT+ power meters, including Vector, our unique pedal-based power meter that measures total power, left/right balance and cadence.
1 Compatible with Shimano Di2 electronic shifting systems with Shimano D-Fly Data Management function.

Connect IQ Compatibility for Your Edge

Now through the Connect IQ store you can download free data fields for your compatible Edge device1 that make it easy to configure to your preferences. For example, with the Specialized Turbo LEVO data field, you can see critical information about your ebike, including assist level and battery life. Control those same features right on the Edge screen.

You can also download other cycling-specific apps and data fields from Connect IQ. For example, Xert apps by Baron Biosystems give you essential performance metrics like power, fat and carbs and time to exhaustion right on your Edge screen. Also available is Strava Suffer Score which collects heart rate data and shows Strava Premium subscribers a score for how hard they worked.

See and Be Seen

Watch Video

Rearview Radar

Varia rearview radar warns cyclists of traffic approaching from behind up to 140 meters (153 yards) and integrates seamlessly with compatible devices.

Alerts You to Approaching Traffic

The Edge computer or Varia head unit can show multiple approaching vehicles and indicates the relative speed of approach and threat level.

Lets Drivers Know You're There

The Varia Radar tail light will increase in intensity as traffic approaches, alerting drivers to your presence on the road.

Works with Edge or Separate Head Unit

Varia rearview radar works independently with the Varia head unit or integrates wirelessly with compatible Edge computers.

Smart Bike Lights

Varia smart bike lights can adjust automatically to changing speed when seamlessly integrated with compatible devices. Will adjust to changing light conditions when integrated with an Edge® device that has an ambient light sensor1.

Automatically Adjusts to Changing Speed

The headlight automatically projects further ahead or closer as a rider’s speed decreases when paired with select Edge computers.

See the Light Where You Need it Most

Lumens measures total light output while lux measures light intensity. The Varia headlight has a rating of 600 lumens, 100 lux at 10 meters. The tail light is 22 lumens.

Two Tail Lights Can Be Used as Turn Signals

When linked with select Edge computers, two tail lights can easily be used as turn signals.

In-sight Display

Varia Vision2 in-sight display puts the cycling information you want where you want it — in your line of sight. It attaches to your sunglasses and displays relevant information when paired with your compatible device.

Heads Up: Keep Your Eyes on the Ride

Varia Vision enhances your awareness, so you never lose focus if you’re trying to nail your targets for a workout, find the next turn or stay aware of approaching cars.

See What You Want to See

Customize up to 4 data fields per screen to view performance data, directions, text/call alerts and more.

Works with Varia Rearview Radar

When paired with Varia rearview radar (standalone head unit or relayed through your compatible Edge), it can display approaching traffic.

1Includes Edge 820, Edge 1000 and Edge Explore 1000.

2For situational awareness only. Users should view data on the display at a glance only and should always focus on surroundings.

Motorists aren't always looking out for you on the roads. That's why we've developed the Varia line of smart bike devices to help create a safer riding environment. The Varia family includes a rearview radar system, smart bike lights and a new in-sight display, Varia Vision™.
